Hometown: Ripley | Occupation: General Manager

Angling History and Achievements:

Started at the ripe age of 10, going fishing regularly on the River Witham in Lincolnshire with my Grandad. It wasn't very long before I framed at my first "big match"...a 100-pegger on the Nene near Peterborough on a national outing. I couldn't take the prize-money though as I was too young!

I have since progressed from rivers and canals an onto today’s commercial fisheries where I do my fair share of framing. I am now a member of the fabulous Glebe fishery in Leicestershire where I try to visit whenever I'm not busy with other commitments. I also write in Match-Fishing magazine on a monthly basis, where I have my own column "The Sconezone". In my spare time (there's not much of that!), I'm recognised as one of the best pole-float makers in the country…something I'm very proud of.

Most memorable angling moment:

Meeting Ivan Marks for the first time at The Glebe. He was a true gentleman and it still amazes me how simple he made things look. Apart from that I think my most memorable moment of recent years was my first "match ton" from Rolfslake in Oxford. I actually had two in two days... it's true what they say you know "Tons are like buses... you wait for one for ages then two come along at once!" I've lost count now how many I get every year!

Favourite Venues:

The Glebe near Leicester and Alders Farm near Milton Keynes. Both "big-weight" venues and that's what I do best!

Future plans / Venues you would like to fish:

I would like to further my interest in angling writing, and at the moment, DHP and Dave Harrell are backing my fully to achieve that goal.

Favourite Ultima products:

Power Match... awesome stuff for bagging big weights on the pole.

Favourite rigs:

Margin pole-rig for fishing anything up to two-feet deep. I generally use 0.20 Ultima Power Match fished straight through to a Fox series 2 hook in a 14's. The float is a very simple "Scone Jubleez" which takes 0.15 gram and is fished absolutely dead-depth with the hook-bait settling the bristle.

Favourite bait:

GOT Baits 4mm feed pellets and GOT Baits soft "hookers". I've lost count of how many big weights they've caught me.

People I would most like to meet:

Girls Aloud...'nuff said!

Other sports:

Love football...shame really as I'm a Derby fan! I also still enjoy lifting weights.

Likes:

Beer, curry, Girls Aloud.

Dislikes:

Drivers who fail to use their indicators...GRRRRR!
