Angling History and Achievements: I have won a lot of competitions with the Post Office and Civil Service and qualified officer for British Gas then the DHss. I joined the Post Office as a postman and worked my way up to senior manager running the two biggest parcel sort centres in the country. My health collapsed and I was medically retired at 46. I have battled health and cancer but have had the all clear for the last three years.
Most memorable angling moment: I came 20th in the Division 1 National and 2nd in section but I lost a chub that would have given me the section and top 12 medal. Winning is ok but it's when you loose that it haunts you. When I won the London Postal League for the 2nd time, a series of matches that are highly contested. I asked the following year who had won the league title, it was me but I had totally forgot!
Favourite Venues: -
Plans for 2008 / Venues you would like to fish: I have entered the maver pairs, the garbolino clubman, I will again compeat in all the Civil Service and PO Matches. I would like to win the Civil Service ind title and I have come so close in the past, plenty of 3rd places.
Favourite Ultima products: Ultima Power Plus the reel line I have ever used, limp, no memory, abrasion resistant, a very good performer when used on the bank fishing, the true test. Power Match the perfect hook length and pole rig line.
Favourite rigs: Whatever takes the coin, I don't have any favourites as I see tackle as tools for the job of work in hand.
Favourite bait: Same again with baits, although pellets, paste corn and meat are top commercial baits as squals are on a canal.
People you would most like to meet: I have met most top anglers so proberbly Prince Charles or the Prime Minister.
Favourite TV programmes: News.
Favourite music: Classical and Tamela Mowtown I also like Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals Phantom of the Opera.
Other sports: Table Tennis, I beat Scarlet Andrew (eng international) many years ago, still like to watch but enjoy watching all sport.
Likes: Most things, I enjoy the photo/journalism work I do (which is free of charge) also meeting people, socialising is top.
Dislikes: Any sauces put on food and fast food not many dislikes as I am pretty easy going. At one time I managed over 500 people/staff, you get to accept everyone's different.
