CARP TEAM - Benelux |
Angling History and Achievements: I started carpfishing in 2001, after a couple of years of coarse fishing I decided it was time to go after some bigger goals. I started off at some small, well-stocked venues and learned a lot in a short period. The next step was to fish a local canal, and I soon traded that in for a small, unknown lake with some nice fish. During the fall of 2003, I was asked to help create a youth division of the VBK (VBK-Jeugdcel) and I have been a board member ever since. Understanding why and how I catch carp, has always been of greater importance to me then catching really big specimens, but I'm confident that they will end up on the bank nontheless now that I've found a venue that holds them and where I have the space to do my thing.
Most memorable angling moment: Probably my first thirty, I caught it within the week after having started on a new water and I was extatic. But all the good times I've had on the bank with a bunch of friends are worth remembering.
Plans for 2008 / Venues you would like to fish: I've come across a fairly unknown and beatifull lake in the north of france that holds some serious fish. The population is very small, given the size of the lake, but I'm determined to crack it, so whenever I find some spare days I'll be on those banks. In the meanwhile, I'll keep fishing here and there in Belgium.
Favourite Ultima products: The Power Carp line. A combination of low visibility, amazing strength and durability. I'd use it anywhere, anytime.
Favourite rigs: I almost solely use combi rigs in combination with a Korda hook and a line aligner.
Favourite bait: : I have blind confidence in any Boiliefrost product, but so far my favourite has been the Squid-Scopex boilie. Van den Eynde's Robin Red mix is also very good.
People you would most like to meet: Anyone who's got a big heart for carpfishing as well as respect for his fellow fishermen and nature.
Favourite TV programmes: Prison Break, Jericho, Friends, Simpsons, Deadwood, ...
Favourite music: A lot, as long as it's not R&B! Electro, house, (old school) rock, minimal, ...
Other sports: Not so much a sport, but I absolutely love old american (muscle) cars. Hopefully I'll have my very own before long.
Likes: Deepfried food. Having good times with my friends, on the bank and at parties! Adventureous road trips.
Dislikes: Cars that break down or get stuck in the middle of nowhere. Shortsighted people.
